Refund Policy

1. Overview
This Refund Policy applies to all paid subscriptions purchased through DosePaw ("the Service"). DosePaw is a digital subscription service — no physical goods are shipped or delivered.
All payments are final and non-refundable, except as expressly stated in this policy or as required by applicable law.
We encourage all users to take full advantage of the free tier before purchasing a paid subscription. The free tier provides comprehensive pet care tracking with no time limit, allowing you to evaluate the Service before committing to a paid plan.
2. Merchant of Record
All payments for DosePaw subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), which acts as our Merchant of Record. This means:
- Paddle is the seller of record for all transactions
- Your payment relationship is with Paddle, not with DosePaw directly
- Paddle handles all payment processing, invoicing, tax collection, and compliance with payment regulations
- Your payment method (credit card, PayPal, etc.) is charged by Paddle, and the charge will appear on your statement as a Paddle transaction
- Refund requests are processed by Paddle in accordance with this policy
Paddle's terms of service and privacy policy apply to all payment transactions. You can review them at paddle.com/legal.
3. Subscription & Billing
DosePaw offers the following paid plans:
- Monthly plan: billed on a recurring monthly basis
- Annual plan: billed as a single payment for a 12-month period
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged at the then-current rate at the time of renewal. We may change subscription prices at any time; price changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following notice.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period you have already paid for
- You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
- No pro-rated refunds will be issued for the remaining unused portion of the current billing period
- After the current billing period ends, your account reverts to the free tier
- Your data is retained and remains accessible under the free tier limitations
Cancellation stops future charges — it does not retroactively refund past charges.
5. Refund Eligibility
Refunds may be considered solely at our discretion in the following limited circumstances:
- Duplicate charges: if you were charged more than once for the same billing period due to a technical error
- Erroneous charges after cancellation: if you were charged after successfully cancelling your subscription before the renewal date
- Service unavailability: if the Service was substantially unavailable or non-functional for a continuous period of more than 7 days during your billing period, and we were unable to resolve the issue
Any refund request must be submitted within 14 days of the charge in question. Requests submitted after this period will not be considered.
6. Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
- You changed your mind about the subscription after purchasing
- You forgot to cancel before the auto-renewal date
- You did not use the Service during the billing period
- You are dissatisfied with a feature change, removal, or modification
- You are unable to use the Service due to your own device, browser, or internet limitations
- Your account was suspended or terminated for violation of our Terms of Service
- You purchased a subscription despite having access to a free tier that allows evaluation of the Service
- Price changes occurred after your purchase (prices are locked for the current billing period)
- Third-party services used by DosePaw (such as Supabase, Vercel, or push notification providers) experienced outages outside our control
7. EU/EEA Right of Withdrawal
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), consumers in the European Union and European Economic Area have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases.
However, in accordance with Article 16(m) of the Directive, you acknowledge and agree that by subscribing to DosePaw and beginning to use the Service, you expressly consent to the immediate provision of digital content and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.
By completing your purchase, you expressly request that the Service be made available to you immediately and you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is waived once the digital content has been accessed or the Service has been used.
If you have not accessed or used any Pro features since your purchase, you may request a withdrawal within 14 days of the purchase date. To exercise this right, contact us before accessing any Pro-exclusive features.
8. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are eligible for a refund, please:
- Email us at contact [at] dosepaw.com with the subject line "Refund Request"
- Include the following information:
- The email address associated with your DosePaw account
- The date of the charge
- The reason for your refund request
- Your Paddle transaction ID or receipt number (if available)
- We will review your request and respond within 5 business days
Alternatively, you may contact Paddle directly through their buyer support portal for questions about charges on your payment method.
9. Refund Processing
If a refund is approved:
- The refund will be processed by Paddle to the original payment method
- Processing time is typically 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider
- Refunds are issued in the original currency of payment
- Upon refund, your subscription will be immediately cancelled and your account will revert to the free tier
- DosePaw is not responsible for any currency conversion fees, bank fees, or delays imposed by your financial institution
10. Chargebacks & Disputes
We strongly encourage you to contact us at contact [at] dosepaw.com before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card company.
Filing a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us may result in:
- Immediate suspension of your DosePaw account pending resolution of the dispute
- Loss of access to all Pro features and synced data during the dispute period
- Permanent termination of your account if the chargeback is determined to be fraudulent or unfounded
We will cooperate with Paddle in responding to all chargebacks and will provide evidence of service delivery, account activity, and subscription consent as applicable.
11. Free Tier
DosePaw offers a permanent, fully functional free tier that includes core pet care tracking features. The free tier does not require a credit card or any payment information.
We recommend all users evaluate the Service using the free tier before purchasing a paid subscription. The availability of a comprehensive free tier is a factor considered when evaluating refund requests — users have the opportunity to thoroughly test the Service at no cost before committing to a paid plan.
12. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will be revised accordingly.
Changes to this policy do not apply retroactively. The refund policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs any refund request related to that purchase.
